ELLIS CUP FINAL WIN FOR MRS, HOSKING From Our Oxen Correspondent HAMILTON, Thursday. The final of the Ellis Cup competition. conducted by the Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club, was played this afternoon. Mrs. T. W. llosking (Titirangi) defeating Miss V. Upham (Wellington). 5 and 3. The Canadian foursomes were won by Mrs. Kenny (Te Aroha), and Mrs. A. James ('Hamilton), 102, 2G—7G. Other cards were:—Mrs. C. Blundell (Te Awumutu), and Miss l-’ooke (Te Awamutu), 95, 17—78; Airs. C. Taylor (Hamilton) and Miss A. Hewitt (Cambridge), 103. 25—78; Airs. G. AlcGrahan (Te Aroha), and Miss J. Thompson (Cambridge), 100, 22—78; Mrs. C. O. Bennett (Hamilton), and Airs. G. Bartlett (Hamilton), 92, 15—79. The consolation medal played this afternoon was won by Airs. Marshall (Middlemore), 56, 7—19. Airs. Mathieson (Glenclowie) was second with 60, 17—52. The putting competition resulted as follows: Tuesday, Afiss Given (Walton); Wednesday, Aliss Fooke (Te Awamutu); Thursday, Airs. R. Reynolds (Whangarei). The aggregate putting prize, presented by Arr. X. Bell, was won by Aliss Fooke (Te Awamutu). The best gross score was that of Airs. llosking (Titirangi). MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB A bogey handicap will bo played by members of the Afaungakiekie Golf Club at the One Tree links tomorrow, players to choose partners. ROTORUA CLUB i EXTENSION OF LINKS From Our Oxen Correspondent ROTORUA. Thursday. The Rotorua Golf Club should soon bo playing on an extended area, as legislation is about to \)q enacted, vesting in the club a of the Arikikapakapa Reserve, an area of approximately 160 acres. Hitherto the Rotorua Golf Club has played on an area of 125 acres, which is known as the extension of the reserve in question. This was property .eased to it by the Government some years ago. and now a clause is contained in the Washing-up Bill to vest in it the main reserve, an area consisting of 158 acres 2 roods 24 perches. Roth reserves will be under the control of the Alinister for Tourist and Health Resorts, and the more recently granted area will no doubt be held | under fhe same conditions in the lease , as those under which the original links I were held, namely, that the club is re- ; quired to allow tourists and visitors jto play on the course, subject to reasonable ground charges.
