CONCRETING LOAN CARRIED WATER PROPOSAL LOST The will of ratepayers of New Lynn on proposals to raise loans for road works and water was held yesterady. The proposal to raise a loan of £4,650 to be spent on the concreting of roads was carried: The voting was 210 in favour of the proposal and 113 against. The proposal to raise a loan of £8,600 for the strengthening and extension of the waterworks system was lost, 178 votes being registered against, and 141 for the proposal. Only £2,400 of the loan had been authorised by the Local Government Loans Board to be raised at present. Only 346 of the 1,300 ratepayers on the New Lynn roll voted. There are 16 declaratory votes yet to be counted.
