FRANKLIN COUNTY ROADS From Our Own Correspondent PUKEKOIIE, Today. Some sixteen unemployed married men residing at Fukekohe and YVaiuku are to be placed on relief works in the Awhitu district within a few days. Advice that the estimated cost of forming and culverting Given’s and Cemetery roads, Awhitu, was £2,750 had been received by the chairman of the Franklin County Council, Mr. J. N. Massey, M.P., from the Minister of Public Works. The Minister has intimated that the district engineer had been informed that the whole of the work was to be -undertaken and the expenditure not limited. Unemployed married men were to be placed. Unemployed have recently been given work at Orua Bay, Awhitu, and on the Whangarata-Pokeno road.
