PETER MANNING, record 1.562, the champion trotter of the world, is at the age of 14 years, in form exceeded by not more than a mere handful of trotters. At Hanover on July 11, Peter Manning trotted a mile in 2.03£, this being a record for a trotter of the age in : America, where the best mile by a 14-year-old was 2.05. J. Peter Manning is very temperamental and it took 45 minutes to get him to start on his exhibition mile.
