BULLS MAKE TO 270GNS. : Widespread demand Special to THE SUIT HAMILTON, Wednesday. j The national salo and show of pedi- j gree Jersey bulls wag commenced at ! iho Claudfeiancl Showgrounds today. It ; will be continued tomorrow and on Friday. A large bench of buyers was present from ail parts of the North Island, while several from the South Isiand attended. A record entry of bulls was offered by breeders from as far south as Nelson. Tho total offering comprised 405 head, ot which 241 were yearlings and 164 two-year-olds and over. The sales today were confined to two-year-olds and over. The highest price realised was 270gns.. paid by A. rJ. Missen, as agent, for C. G. C. Dormer's two-year-old bull, Waipiko Love Boy. The next highest price was 23ogns., which J. B. Aitken, of Pukekohe, paid for Dernier s two-vear-old, Waipiko Caravel. Both these 7>ulls are progeny of V'ivandiere's Prince, the dams being Waipiko Lovebird and Waipiko Cxarity respectively. The third highest-priced animal was Meadowvale Oxford JSuitan, bought by C. ►Stevens, of Whangarei, from M. B. ►Smith, Hastings, for 170gns. The values realised were considered very satisfactory. The average price obtained for tho 71 hubs sold out of the catalogued offering of 110, was 43gns.. The following were the principal sales ana purchasers: Waipiko Love Boy, 270gns., bought by A. rJ.
