It is wrong to catch a sheep by its wool. Butchers know what it means to the poor animal, for it leaves a black or blue mark or bruise on the carcase, which interferes with its sale. Catch a sheep either by the hind leg or by placing the liquid underneath the jaw or neck. Farmers should visit our killing works on a busy day and they would have convincing proof of the damage done by rough handling.
