SMALL WHALER BATTERED BY HEAVY SEAS CARGO SWEPT OVERBOARD Reed. 10.15 a.m. CAPETOWN, Tues. A 90-ton Norwegian whaler, bound for South Georgia, has returned. Her deck cargo and coal were swept overboard by mountainous seas. The captain hove-to for three days 750 miles west of Capetown. The seas topped the ship’s masthead.
