AUCKLAND GUN CLUB
CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING The Auckland Gun Club resumed the season’s shooting on Saturday at the club’s grounds at Papakura. The weather conditions affected the attendance. but 12 shooters took part in thq matches. A strong breeze made the shooting very difficult and some of tho older members’ performances were not up to the usual standard. The feature of the day was the success of L. F. Ramsey, a young member of the club, who Won three matches outright.
The first five-birds match was won by A. E. Macredie (26yds), with the possible, E. J. Schofield (24yds), being second wiui four.
The first 10-birds match was won outright by L. F. Ramsey (21yds). with the possible. S. Roberts (25yds)., E. J. Schofield (24yds) and I. Lomas (22 yds), divided second money with nine each. The second match was also won by L. F. Ramsey (23yds). with the possible, A. E. Macredie (26yds) and L. Peterson (23yds), dividing second money with nine each. A first "n Vs-and-out” sweep was won by L. ]• . Ramsey (24yds), on the sixth round. F. H. Seccombe (26yds) being runner-up.
The final match of six birds was won by F. H. Seccombe (26yds), with the possible, L. F. Ramsey (25yds). being second with five.
The next shoot will he held on Wednesday, September 17.
