TRADE EXHIBITION

BRITAIN HAS INTEREST IN BIG FAIR PRINCE TO OPEN IT British Official Wireless Reed. 10.5 a.m. - RUGBY, Wed. The British Empire Trade Exhibition at Buenos Aires, which the Prince of Wales is to visit, will be opened on March 14 and remain open about six weeks. When the. Prince was on his way home from South Africa he made a tour of Argentina and other South American States. Since then he has taken a keen interest in the development of trade relations with LatinAmerican countries and after his visit an Anglo South American Association was formed to further that object. Another step toward extending the British market in South America was taken by the appointment by the Board of Trade of an economic mission of industrialists, headed by Vis eolfnt D’Abernon, which recently vis ited Argentina and Brazil. VISIT WELCOME The Brazilian Ambassador in London has received a message expressing on behalf of the Brazilian President and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, their pleasure at .the proposed visit of the Prince of Wales next year. The message states Brazil will regard this visit as one of the most agreeable with which she could be honoured. The “Evening News” states the Prince will have his own private airplane with him on his South American tour. The aircraft-carrier Eagle is to be stationed in Buenos Aires for the trade exhibition, and it is reported she will carry the Prince’s ’plane together with some 30 aircraft of her own. Several British aircraft manufacturers who are exhibiting, are arranging for demonstration flights daily while the exhibition is in progress. STATE’S CO-OPERATION British manufacturers are displacing keen interest in next year’s exhibition at Buenos Aires and the applications for space in the trade sections have necessitated the provision of more than double the covered space originally designed. The grounds and buildings where the exhibition is to be held cover more than 25 acres, but it will be difficult to accommodate all who wish to participate. Owing to the greatly increased importance now assumed by the exhibition the British Government has decided to treble the sum to be expended on its official participation ir. the exhibition. A considerable part of the impressive exhibits of the British Government now being shown at the Antwerp Exhibition will be displayed at Buenos Aires. A message from Rio de Janeiro saj's the British Ambassador there has advised the Interior Ministry that the Prince of Wales’s visit to Brazil is scheduled for April 19, next year.
