ITALY AND RUSSIA SIGN ECONOMIC TREATY CHEAP PETROL AND COAL Times Cable LONDON, Monday. Italy and Russia have signed a commercial treaty. The terms have not been published yet and it is impossible to say whether the document goss beyond the long series of commercial agreements with Germany which were signed recently. A communiqfle says the treaty marks th,e beginning of more intense economic collaboration between Italy and the Soviet Government. The announcement was made after a cordial meeting between the Prime Minister of Italy, Signor Mussolini, and the Soviet Commissar. The newspapers express the opinion that the treaty will enable Italy to purchase more cheaply petrol, coal and other minerals which at present are imported from distant markets.
