RETURNING TONIGHT
RAILWAY COMMISSION’S WORK DONE VISITING SOUTH ISLAND Working at high pressure, the members of the Railways Commission hate concluded their Auckland business sooner than was expected and will leave for the South on the Limited this evening. Probably the first business to bo dealt with on returning to Wellington will be an examination of the Hut.t workshops. After that the com mission will sit in Christchurch .and Dunedin then returning to Wellington for the final stage of its inquiry. Yesterday evidence was heard from departmental officers and delegates' from local bodies in the country anti Onehunga. Today the commission is visiting the locomotive running sheds in Quay Street East, the new railway station and the city booking office Further evidence from departmental officers is also being heard. , Last evening the commission sat until 11 o’clock. The members of the commission are the Hon. R. Masters, M.L.C., chairman, Messrs. R. W. McVilly, J. Marchbanks and J. D. Hall.
