His Shooting Stick A golfer who was playing in an important competition before a considerable gallery found to his dismay that he had completely lost his putting touch. 'After struggling hopelessly on several successive greens he threw the offending putter away and in a loud voice said to one of the spectators. “Pardon me, sir. will you kindly lend me your shooting-stick?”
