INDUSTRIAL PROTECTION

LECTURE BY MR. G. FINN At the invitation of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, Mr. George Finn, president of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Association and the association in Auckland, is to speak at Hamilton this evening on “The Case for Protection in New Zealand.” Mr. G. Mills Palmer, a member of the executive of the Auckland association. will accompany Mr. Finn. “It bristles with sound common - sense,” was the praise accorded the address given by Mr. James Fletcher in May last on New Zealand’s industrial position, and since circulated extensively by the association, in a letter received at a meeting yesterday afternoon from the Pio Pio Farmers’ Union. In memory of the late Mr. W. E>. Munn, a member of the association, the meeting stood in silence. Mr. Finn praised Mr. Munn’s services, and a letter of sympathy will be sent to the relatives.
