Anniversary Dance
PAPAKURA ODDFELLOWS CELEBRATE TWENTYFIRST BIRTHDAY BIRTHDAY CAKE PRESENTED The Star of Papakura Lodge, 1.0.0. F., No. 82. celebrated its twenty-first birthday on Monday in the Paragon Theatre. There was a very large attendance, representatives being present from other lodges. Short speeches of congratulation were made by P.G.M. Bro. Harding. P.G.M. Bro. J. Hooper, Grand Sire, I*.G. Bro. F. Murrell, Sister E. L. Newbold, L.D.D.G.AL, F.G. Bro. R. Schlaepfer,' district representative. An apology was received from Bro. R. Cooper, P.G.M., who was unavoidably absent. On behalf of the Elm Rebekali Lodge (Papakura). Sister E. M. Gitillard, X.G. presented a birthday cake to the X.G and members of the Star of Papakura Lodge, the response being made by Bro. A. C. E. Beams, X.G. Dancing, cards, and bowls provided a very delightful evening. The dance music- was supplied by Walker’s Orchestra. Among those present were: Mrs. R. Stein, in navy crepe de chine; Mrs. S. Brown, bois de rose crepe de chine; Mrs. Gunn, navv crepe de chine, relieved with red; Mrs* E L. Newbold, navy repp and lace: Mrs. MacDonald (Pukekohe), cream and red jersey frock; Airs. \V. R. Richardson, green georgette and silver lace; Mrs. W. Grandison (Pukekohe), cherry ring velvet; Mrs. Fahey, black crepe de chine: Mrs. Guthrie (Otahuhu), black ring velvet, beaded in jet; Airs. Croft (Otaliuhu). royal blue crepe de chine; Airs. A. Johnston, be tty blue georgette: Miss V. Morris Pukekohe). green georgette; Aliss C. Jeplison, floral silk: Alias G. Alexander (Clevedon), mist blue creoe de chine; Miss Thelma Mullins (Ardmore), anklelength frock of ivory georgette and tulle. Miss M. T. Arkle (Waiuku). who wore saxe blue georgette; Miss Patou, rose satin: Aliss R. Dryland (Pmaruru), blue °hift’on velvet: Aliss V. Alderton. pink crepe tie chine, trimmed with gold lace* Miss A. Alderton, mauve silk net over georgette, trimmed with sequins and beads: Aliss Edna Barker, black ring velvet. Miss B. Handed, biscuit coloured crepe ido chine, trimmed with lace; Aliss D Fallows (Pukekohe), black satin and lace; Aliss D. Martin, cherry ring velvet: Aliss AI. Kinlock, violet taffeta: Miss Mona Kinlock. gold lame and cerise georgette: Miss E. Guillard. blue satin and silver lame: Aliss AI. Xewbold. pink tafJ feta; Aliss AI.
