VALLEY TENNIS CLUB HOLDS GAY ANNUAL FUNCTION
DANCE AT ALFRISTON The Alfrieton Public HaH wa* prettily decorated with a canopy of rainbow-coloured streamers on Thursday evening on the occasion of ths annual dance of the Valley Tennis Club. The dance floor was filled to capacity, visitors being present, from c number of neighbouring clubs. A delight* ful programme of dance music was contributed by Morrow’s Orchestra and Mrs. Kimpton played several extras. The supper tables were prettily decorated with tall vases of bloomy with which were interwoven stream* ers of blue and gold, the club colours. Among those present were: Mrs. It. W. Muir, wearing a frock of lido blue georgette; Mrs. D. Mclnnes, who wore paon blue satin carreau and georgette, with silver trimmings; Mrs. & L Da we, f rocked in black georgette, with reliefs of lace; Mrs. H. whitford, in an electric blue taffeta frock, Mrs. Kimpton, who was wearing art blue crepe de chine; Mrs. A J. Davies, lichen green crepe de chine, worn under frcck of lace: Miss Thelma Mullins, frcck of ivory georgette; Miss E. O’Neill, an ankle-length frock of flame georgette; Miss H. Nice], lime taffeta frock, worn an tele-length: Miss R. Williams, applegreen georgette and tulle, worn anklelength; Mies Khoda Shaw, in a frock of palest green lace, worn ankle-length and finished with posy. Miss Hilda Whalen, who chose orchid pink georgette, with uneven hemline; Miss Eileen Mclnnea, in a frock of ashes of roses guipure lace: Miss B. Baruott, buttercup taffeta and georgette, worn with dainty shawl; Miss C. Raughsy. frocked in tomato patterned crepe de chine; Miss Ivy Pennell, rose bluth georgette frock; Miss C. Fitzpatrick, who** frock was of ivory crepe de chine; Mias Helen Beil, wearing a dainty frock of rose petal crepe de chine: Miss T. ftpragS, frocked in sedge green satin lame; Mw Jean McCullough, an ankle-length frock of periwinkle blue taffeta; Miss A. Howie, whose frock was of peach moire velvet and crepe de chine; Miss F. Stephens, In a pretty frock of figured taffeta and frilled silk not; Mies L Haliiwell. wearing a frock of rose georgette, with trimmings of gold lace; Miss McCullough, coral pink georgette, with trimmings of iiaris lace; Miss Walter*, Svdney, in a frock of black, with rehefe of green; Miss M. I. Gore, black georgette frock, finished with carmine poey; Miss Lupton. frocked in blush rose embossed georgette, with silver trimming*; Miss E. Jeffs, wearing black velvet; Miss Thelma Kimpton, frocked in apple-green tulle, worn over satin carreau, and finished with silver trimmings; Miss E. Paliister, sea-green crepe de chine, with an overskirt of silk tulle; Mis* M. Dann. frock of rose pink, featuring an uneven hemline: Miss Mary Munro, wearing patterned lame and petunia crepe de chine; Miss Z. Stephens, who wore an ankle-length frock of leaf-green taffeta.
