PARTY AT PARNELL Bridge was the order of the afternoon at a bright little party Mrs. Rea* Humphries gave at her flat in Gladstone Road, Parnell, on Thursday afternoon. A warm fire made the room very cosey and gay splashes of colour were added by bowls of golden yellow jonquils. Mrs. Humphries wore a black chiffon and lace frock with floral velevt bridge coat. Her guests were Mrs. C. C. Ewcn, Mrs. Huon Bouisson, Mrs. S. Kunnear, Mrs. A. Cahill, Mrs. Bartleet, Miss Ivy Underwood, Miss Cushla Ralnger, Miss Wilma Plummer, Miss Eve Ford, Miss Dorothy Tancred, Miss Marjorie Cerutty, Miss Eileen Adkins, and Miss Loel Stone.

GUESTS ENTERTAINED AT BRIDGE Miss Marjorie Blakey was hostess at a very jolly little bridge party on Tuesday evening at her home in Great South Road. Iceland popples and spring flowers, were arranged In the fooms and to receive the guests Miss Blakey wore a frock of blue georgette, with brocaded velvet bridge coat. Those present were Mrs. R. G. Moffltt, Mrs. S. A. Pezarro, Mrs. J. A. Sweeney, Miss K. Humphries, Mrs. C. C. Ewen, Mrs. A. Cahill, Miss Dorothy Blakey, Miss Simons, Miss Phyllis Symons, Miss Phyllis Peet, Miss Marjorie Feet. RECEPTION FOR CONFERENCE DELEGATES
FUNCTION AT LYCEUM CLUB A reception for the Auckland delegates to the Pan-Pacific Conference at Honolulu and the Australian delegation, which arrives at the week-end, has been planned jointly by the Lyceum Club and the Auckland branch of the National Council of Women. The Australian delegates are as follow:—Western Australia: Mrs Russell Smith, headmistress of Perth College; Mrs. Chapman, inspector of shops and factories (industrial section). South Australia: Mrs. Pennant Cooke, J.P., who sits in the Magistrate’s Court and has done much social work; Dr. Constance Davey, PhD., psychologist (education section), deputy chairman to the delegation. Victoria: Mrs. C. S. Allen, formerly of New Zealand, and a leading Australian woman journalist. Mrs. Allen was an alternate delegate to the League of Nations Assembly at Geneva a few years ago, and has done much public work. Other delegates from Victoria are Miss Elsie Griffin, formerly of Auckland, national general secretary of the Young Women’s Christian Association of Australia, deputy-secretary to the delegation; Miss Eleanor Moore, secretary; Dr. Georginu Sweet, chairman of the delegation; Mrs. J. Eddy (industrial section), domestic science and social hygiene; Mrs. Munro, vico-pres*-dent of the Australian W.C.T.U.; Mrs. Stott (associate delegate), vice-presi-dent of the Y.W.C.A. National Board New South Wales delegates Include: —Mrs. Jonathan Williams, recording secretary of the Australian W.C.T.U.and member of the National Council of Women: Mrs. Inglis Glanville, vicepresident of the Women’s League, and prominent member of the English Speaking Union; Miss Mabel MacDonald. Education Department; Mrs. J. A. Wilson, vice-president of St. Margaret’s Maternity Hospital; Miss May Yeo, vice-president of the Country Women’s Association of New South Wales; Miss Randall Collyer (associate delegate), worker for racial hygiene; and Mrs. Marcus Marks (associate delegate), member of the League of Nations Union and of the Social Hygiene Society.
