As the electrician who is selected to j* ay the role of “gentleman” lover, achard Dix gives an outstanding porrayal. Allen Kearns is cast as the ®Wronment- maker and is eminently ;«ccessf ji in. that role. His attempts, are continually frustrated by yxpec.od incidents, to bring the two weeted lovers into the specially-pre-a*p «d environment, cause unrestrained »ughter Lois Wilson appears to advantage as J” 6 girl who, by winning Dix’s true «»ve, ujsets the theory of “environment affection. The minor parts of e»f butler, whose classit »,• o v * e<^e * s a source of wonder ! “ is employers, and the lady guests *«o, to the dismay of the bettor inno®*ntly invade the “environment,” are * U cs.pable hands. fHm is in the form of witty dUr 116 ’ tllere being r.o singing or interludes, and from start to nish holds the interest of the audience. The remtJnder of the Civic’s programme is of the usual high standard. ne Civic Concert Orchestra plays ~, ema from ‘Maritana” and Fred Scholl Hpjn amusing feature entitled “Parani e +’” There is also a talkie comedy two sound gazettes.
