According to the “News-Chronicle” the Government takes a most serious view of the incident in the House of Commons yesterday, when Mr. J. Beckett and Mr. A. F. Brockway. two Labour members, were suspended. “The Times” calls it the "Rape of the Mace.” It is stated that Mr. MacDonald may rpove a motion recording the House's condemnation of Mr. Becketi’s action “The Sketch” says steps have already been taken to expel him from the Labour Party.
