AIR MAIL TO ENGLAND

GROWING POPULARITY Press Association WELLINGTON, Thursday. The service which has been inaugurated for utilising the air mail services in Australia, Canada, and the United States, and the London to Karachi route, has been very well patronised, according to statements made by officials of the Post and Telegraph Department. Philatelists have been active, but the officials do not know to what extent. Nevertheless, the idea of using the air mail is growing, and the amount of mail for conveyance by the air services is increasing. Especially valuable is the Karachi to London service, which saves from three to ten days when compared with the Vancouver route, the saving varying according to the time between the departure of the two mails and the steamer connection between Ahstralia and India.
