BOWLING. CROQUET AND TENNIS CLUBS Members of Rawhiti Bowling, Croquet and Tennis Clubs, Remuera, held a most successful and enjoyable social evening in St. Aidan's Hall recently The hall had been brightly decorated, with the club colours of brown and gold predominating. Card tables were arranged downstairs and on the stage. The winners of the Bridge were Mrs. Coleman and Mr. Cumming, and of “500,” Mrs. Rawnsley and Mr. Wiseman. During the evening the tennis trophies for the season were presented. Members of the committee present were:—Mesdames Arden, Morton, Page, and Miss Walker, Messrs. Paterson, Scelly, Stubbs. Eaves, Savin, Jqckson, Woods, Barker. 'lt is usually found that the mattress of a heavy person sinks in the middle and becomes uncomfortable. This can be prevented by placing a flat pillow or cushion, about 30 inches square, between the overlay or wool mattress and the wire mattress, 30 to 36 Inches from the head of the bed. The correct position can be ascertained by observing exactly where the mattress sinks. Folded blankets will answer the same purpose, but must be wrapped in a piece of sheeting in case any dust penetrates the under felt.
