RIALTO, NEWMARKET
Janet Gaynor, whose singing voice was first heard on the screen in
“Sunny Side Up,” again sings in “High Society Blues,” Fox Movietone musical romance to be seen and heard at tlio Rialto Theatre tonight. Miss Gaynor had three outstanding song hits in “Sunny Side Up,” while in her current production she has four. All four were written by Joseph McCarthy and James F. Hanley, famous Broadway composers and lyricists. Even if a young man spends most of his time strumming a ukulele and singing love songs, he may win a girl of his dreams from an artistocratic titled foreigner, Charles Farrell proves in this musical romance, in which he is co-featured with Janet Gaynor. Bright supports are also to be shown. Helen Kane, Paramount’s fascinating “baby-voiced” singer, started her professional career six years ago as one of the chorus in a Four Marx Brothers show.
