\ FUNDS FOR IMPROVEMENT TO NORTHCOTE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL GROUNDS i i CHILDREN’S MERRY EVENING, To rai»« funds for improvements to the grounds of the Junior High School, Northcote, a most successful children’s fancy dress dance was held in the Palais Theatre, Northcote, last evening. Members of the organising committee present included Mrs. E. Bailey, president, ATesdames J. Blake, A. E. Barrett, J. Brennan. E. C. Davey, H. Shaw, S. Pugh, F. Marshall, E. Saunders, C. Gilfoyle, and the school staff. The judges were:—Airs. A. E. Green - slade, Afayoress of Northcote, wearing a frock of black marocain; Airs. A. Campbell, brocaded georgette; Airs. AI. S. James, black lace with a black and gold bridge coat. Miss Rata Shaw, wearing a costume “Folly,” gave an exhibition of fancy dancing, which was greatly appreciated. The prizewinners were distributed over a large variety of classes. The prizes were contributed by a large circle of parents and friends.
