BUTTER-FAT RECORDS
NGARUA GROUP SETS NEW WORLD FIGURES SETTLERS JUBILANT From Our Own Correspondent TE AROHA, Today. There is jubilation among Ngarua settlers. Last year the herd-testing group in this district made a world’s record by producing 3041 b of butterfat a cow for a massed herd of 984, which was the equivalent of 1701 b of fat an acre. The record was claimed on the fat an acre basis. The group has now been officially advised by the New Zealand Co-opera-tive Herd-Testing Association of the establishing of two world’s records for this season. They are: 318.421 b of butter-fat a cow for 1,113 cows m 281 days. 1861 b of butter-fat an acre.
The settlers have engaged the Ngarua Hall to celebrate the achievement today.
