PEACE PARLEYS BASED ON FEAR OF CONFLICT WARNING BY PACIFIST Reeil. 10.45 a.m. LONDON, Wed. The Duke of Sutherland, President of the British Section of the interparliamentary Union, in welcoming delegates at the Royal Gallery in the House of Lords, urged the importance of international co-operation. He said: “Another great war will kick us all into an abyss whence we may not return to seek peace.” Lord Robert Cecil said the Navai Conference negotiations had been con ducted too much in a war atmosphere If we had the Continent of Europe as peaceful as North America, it would be a long step toward the pacification of the world, he said.
