| IN AND OUT OF GAOL SEAMAN’S 31ST CONVICTION “In and out like a concertina,” was how Chief-Detective Hammond de scribed the troubled career of Thomas Weir, who was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment at the Police Court today. Weir, a seaman,' aged 40, pleadej guilty to charges of being drunk in Customs Street yesterday, and being an idle arid disorderly person, in that he had insufficient means of support. “He has been hanging around City hotels,” said Chief-Detective Hammond. "He has been in Auckland since 1925 and has a list of 31 convictions. He won’t go to work.” In reply to Mr. F. K. Hunt, Weir said he had nothing to say. “Three months,” said Mr. Hunt.
