SURE CURE FOR BLUES

“SO THIS IS LOVE” Anybody suffering from that depressed feeling which denotes an attack of the blues, lias only to journey to His Majesty’s Theatre to effect a cure. “So This is Love,” tne musical comedy being presenetd at the theatre by the White-Edgley English Musical Company, is a sure cure for the blues, no matter how strong the attack may be.

Last year Clem Da we made a great hit here in revue but in musical comedy he appears to be even better, if that is possible. His delightful fooling is the “high-light” of the show and in his efforts to break apart a loving couple and then reunite them again he is a scream. He is ably seconded by Bobby Gordon, who proved an admirable foil for Mr. Dawe. As an American “fixer” he creates a lot of fun.

The loving couple. Betty Eley and Michael Cole, experience many trials and tribulations in the course of love, and at one stage it appears that a scheming female, played by Marie Eaton, has succeeded in parting them, but the act brings a happy ending. Miss Eley and Mr. Cole sing nicely in solos and duets and also do a little dancing. Katherine Stewart and Paul Plunkct are also responsible for some of the Cun. Other members of the company acquit themselves well. Mention must bo made of the hard-working chorus girls and men, who provide some novel ballet scenes, and also Mona Zeppel and John Robertson, who dance a specialty number. The performance will continue until Saturday everina
