A RICCARTON STABLE
MANY UNTRIED HORSES IN WORK TEAM UNDER W. G. HOBBS With tho exception of Honeycomb, who is still spelling, and Dutch Aloney, who may never race again as the result of her serious breakdown on the training track shortly after her successful trip to Trentham in January, all W. G. Hobbs’s team are now in work at Riccarton (reports our correspondent). They include Tarquinius (a rising three-year-old gelding by Night Raid from imported Week End, the dam of Evening), who has done some racing this season ; Pharaoh (a rising three-year-old gelding by Shambles from Palestrina); Jordan (a rising two-year-old half-brother to Pharaoh by Jericho); Jael (a rising tliree-year-old filly by Shambles from the Martian mare Judith, the dam of both Jericho and Palestrina); Aloorbird (a rising three-year-old filly by The Ace from Afoorfowl): Autumn Bird (a full-sister to Moorbird and listed as of the same age because she was foaled before August 1): and Galante (a rising throe-year-old gelding by Paladin from Wink, a daughter also of Judith by Winkie).
