THE CANADIAN CONQU EROR.—The Canadian National Steamer Canadian Conqueror, which was dispatched from Auckland for New York, Boston and Montreal on June 3, is reported to have reached New York last Thursday. KARAMEA'S ‘ MOVEMENTS. The Shaw, Savin Company advises that the motor-ship Karamea will not now* load wt Gisborne. She is to leave Port Chalmers todav for Lyttelton and Wellington to till up, and is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington on July 22 for London, via the Panama Canal.

LUNCHEON ON RANGITIKI. —Befory the New Zealand Shipping Company s motor-liner Hangltikl left England early this month for New Zealand, u luncheon was held on board, and after this function the visitors made an inspection of the vessel. Among those present were Prince George, Sir James Mills and Mr. J. L. Brown.

TAMAROA SAILS 5 p.m. —L. D. Nathan, Limited, advises that the Shaw. Savlll liner Tamaroa is to sail at o o'clock this evening for Napier and Wellington to complete her cargo for London She is to clear Wellington finally on July 20 with passengers and mails for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal.

MAKO REPLACES PUKEKO—The steamer Make is to replace the Pukeko on her Napier run while the latter is being converted into a motor vessel. The Pukeko arrived from Napier this morning and work will commence on her in the near future. The Mako, which is making her first run since February, sailed for Napier yesterday afternoon. MAUNGANUI SAILS 8 P.M. —The Union Company’* intercolonial steamer Maunganui is scheduled to sail at 8 P-m. todav for Sydney via Wellington. The vessel will also take passengers in three classes from Auckland to Wellington, and she is to leave Wellington on Friday afternoon for Sydney. She is due at Sydney on Tuesday morning. ULIMAROA’S ITINERARY. - The Huddart-Parker steamer Llimaroa reached Sydney from Auckland at seven o’clock yesterday morning. The vessel is to sail on Friday and she is due at Wellington next Tuesday. The following Friday she will leave Wellington for Sydney. The company advises that in order to fit in with the Union Company s new intercolonial time-table the Ulimaroa will make two trips in succession from Sydney to Wellington before she returns to Auckland. On her next trip to this port she will leave Sydney on August 15 and reach Auckland on August 19. On August 22 she will leave Auckland on the return trip to Sydney. 1 hereafter the vessel will make alternate trips between Sydney and Wellington and Sydney and Auckland as in the past. NIAGARA SAILED. —Late last night the Royal mail liner Niagara sailed for Sydney in completion of her voyage from Vancouver. She is due at Sydney on Saturday. THE KING JOHN. —After unloading a phosphate cargo at Auckland and '' anganui, the motor-ship King John left Wanganui on Monday night for Nauru Island to load another phosphate cargo. HUNTINGDON AT PANAMA.—The Federal Line steamer Huntingdon is reported to have reached Panama last Sunday, en route from Auckland to London. She was despatched from Auckland on June IS. HIKURANGI AT NORFOLK ISLAND. —Spedding. Limited, has received advise that the Hikurangi reached Norfolk Island from Auckland at 10.4 d a.m. on Monday. The vessel is to sail on#her return trip tonight and she is due back at Auckland about Saturday. HAURAKI SAILS 6 P.M.—After having discharged the local portion of her Pacific ("oast cargo at King's Wharf, the motor-ship Hauraki is to sail at six o’clock this evening for Wellington. Melbourne and Sydney to complete unload- , ing. PHOSPHATES FROM NAURU.—The steamer Lady Lewis, 4.997 tons. left Honolulu on June 26 for Nauru to load phosphates for New Zealand. . ’ The steamer Aymeric, 5.196 tons, left Shanghai on July 5 for Nauru to load phosphates for New Zealand or Australia. ROTORUA SAILS TOMORROW.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that its liner Rotorua, now at Prince s Wharf putting out the local portion of her cargo of general merchandise from London, is to be dispatched at 4 o’clock tomorrow afternoon for Wellington to complete discharge. CLYDEBANK WITH SULPHUR.— Expected to arrive here about July 22, the motor-ship Clydebank is laden with sulphur from Galveston, Texas. The vessel is to put out 3,500 tons at this port to the agency of A. S. Paterson and Company, Ltd. .and the remainder, 2.600 tons, is for discharge at Port Chalmers. These figures are approximate only. KALINGO SAILS TOMORROW.—The cargo steamer Kalingo is to be dispatched at noon tomorrow for Napier to ’ c omplete discharge- of her cargo of timber from Australia. From Napier she proceeds to Colt's Harbour, Port Stephens and Newcastle to load another timber , cargo, which lie will unload at Lyttei- i ton, Timaru and Greymouth. Ltd., advises that the i Danish motor-ship Astoria is expected tc* complete discharge of the local portion of lier cargo of Nauru phosphates on Friday morhing, when she is to shift from King Wharf to Western Wharf to replenish hcr oil fuel bunkers. She is then to sail for New Plymouth to complete unloading her cargo. The new schooner for the T ~n*V>n Mission Society. John Williams V.. was launched at Grangemouth, Scotland, on May 1 in the presence of a large crowd. A meeting was held previous to the launching and among the speakers was Dr. Donald Fraser, who told how in his childhood the story of John Williams had moved him, and if he had had his way he would have gone to the New Hebrides. After the meeting the crowd, accompanied by pipers, marched to the dockyard. The christening ceremony was performed by Lady Carmichael, who with a prayer for the welfare of the ship, swung* the bottle of coconut milk on to the bows. Sir James Carmichael spoke with great admiration of .John Williams, who had gifted hands as well as a great heart and soul. Sir James showed his interest in the new ship by a gift of £I,OOO. The schooner is expected to arrive at Suva, her headquarters. via Panama Canal, toward the end of tho year*
