FAREWELL TO REV. A. J. BECK
After being in charge of St. Luke’s parish for six years, the Rev. A. J. Beck was tendered a farewell on Saturday evening. There was a large number of parishioners and friends present. Mr. C. W. Coles, vicar’s warden, who presided, said it was deeply regretted that the vicar had been ordered by his medical adviser to retire for the present. and paid a tribute to Mr. Beck’s work in. the parish. On behalf of parishioners and friends. Mr. A. W. Page presented Mr. and Mrs. Beck with an address, an electric radiator and a substantial cheque. Other presentations were made by the members of the choir, Sunday School. Ladies’ Guild and Mothers* Union. An excellent musical programme was given.
