NEW YORK PRODUCER MUST NOT LAND ECHO OF NAUGHTY PARTY Reed. 0.5 a.m. LONDON, Monday. The “Daily Herald” says the Home Office has instructed the Port of London Authority to refuse the admittance of the New York producer, Earl Carroll, in the event of his attempting to land in Great Britain. Earl Carroll, one of New York's most prominent theatrical producers, has had a varied career. He began life as a programme seller and in later years had a theatre named after him. Some years ago he was concerned in a, notorious after-theatre party in which a beautiful chorus girl is alleged to have been bathed in champagne on the stage in front ol' the guests. He was convicted under the liquor law and later served a term of imprisonment. Earl Can-oil's “Vanities” compete with the Fiorenz Ziegfeld revues for spectacle and beauty He is the author of several plays, including “Canary Cottage” (lyrics and music), “The Love Mill,’ “Flora Bella” and “The Lady of the Lamp."
