MEN RECEIVE NOTICE AT MASTERTON “NO LACK OF WORK” Press Association MASTERTOX, Today. Several men on the district telegraph engineer’s construction staff at Masterton have received notice of dismissal. The men affected are casual hands who were taken on about 10 months ago for special work which occupied six months. S.nce the completion of that work the men have been kept on until the present. It is stated that the men were to finish up today, but as final instructions have not yet been received from headquarters the dismissals may not take effect for a day or two. Representations have been made on behalf of the men and endeavours are made to have them retained on the staff, as it is stated that there is no lack of telegraph construction work in 1 +v *o Wairarapa.
