A 955 BREAK

McCONACHY SETS AUCKLAND BILLIARDS RECORD MATCH WITH O’DONOGHUE The largest billiards break ever made in Auckland was compiled by Clark McConachy last evening, when he put up a record score* of 955. McConachy is playing E. J. O’Donoghue in a fortnight billiards match. The break was a perfect example of modern billiards, being built up by delicate close cannons and the potcannon combination at the top of tho table. Approaching the 1,000 mark the excitement of the si>ectators was intense, but the break was terminated when tho champion just missed a long fine cannon. The scores arc:—McConachy, 21,862. Best breaks, 410. 3 36, 378, 109, 224, 559, 357, 150, 955, 626. O’Donoghue, 44.858 (including a start of 40,000). Best breaks, 70, 76, 54, 76, 61, 106.
