TAMAKI YACHT CLUB
ANNUAL PRIZE NIGHT A large and representative assembly of yachtsmen and their friends attended the fifth annual prize night and dance of the Tamaki Yacht Club, the baby of Auckland clubs which was held in the Imperial Theatre, Koh:marama. last evening. The club had made steady progres-, said the commodore, Mr. W. A. Wilkinson. in welcoming the guests. An ideal site had been secured for tfac clubhouse on the Bastion Rock, and the club should have a home of it* own within five years. .Vs a reault of the recent art union, the clubhous? * fund had benefited by £ll2. Although the weather had not been the best for racing, the club had had good competition, particularly’ among the 14-footers. Tamaki had had th«* honour of winning the Upton Cun through the 22ft mullet-boat Mari. . sailed by Mr. F. Lidgard. The prizes were presented by the harbourmaster, Captain 11. 11. Sei - geant. who congratulated the club on the progress it had made, and expressed the opinion that. now the waterfront roadway had been completed, the club would still further increase its activities. The most important prizes were won by the following: Lipton Cup. Marie F. Browne Cup. Mawhiti: Neville New - comb© and Commodore Cups. Lois Marshall-Whit© Cup. Shall mar; Nixon Cup. North Shore Rowing Club.
