SUBURBAN THEATRES
The Crystal Palace Theatre. Mount Eden Road, and the de Luxe Theatre, Mount Albert Terminus, are both showing “Dynamite,” a powerfully dramatic story of modern society made by the famous director, Cecil B. de Mille. Kay Johnson, Charles Bickford and Conrad Nagel are the stars. The Empress Theatre, Newton, is showing “The 13th Chair,” an exciting mystery-thriller dealing with murder and spiritualism. The West End Theatre, Ponsonby Road, is showing “Her Unborn Child,” the heart-touching story of reckless youth and a mother’s love.
The Alexandra Theatre, Green Lane, is showing the great war story, “The Caee of Sergeant Grischa,” from Arnold Zweig’s famous novel of the Russian and German conflict.
The Regent Theatre, Epsom; is showing two talkie thrillers in “Black Waters,” a sea mystery, and “Guilty,” a courtroom drama.
