SESSION CONCLUDES
ELECTION OF COMMITTEE

The Waikato Synod concluded its session today.
Most of the afternoon was occupied by the passage of Bills amending Statutes through the committee stages. The third reading was taken of several Bills.
The Vicar-General, (Archdeacon G. G. Bell, announced with regret that the election the previous evening of the Rev. R. L. Connolly to the standing committee had been invalid. Mr. Connolly was accordingly renominated, for the remaining ballot. The Rev. P. Cleary (Ngaruawahia). moved that synod place on record its appreciation of the assistance given by legal members of synod without fee or hope of material award. The motion was carried.
On the motion of the Rev. R. L. Connolly, a resolution regretting the resignation of the Rev. E. S. Wayne (Waihi) and placing ou record appreciation of his work tor the diocese was carried.
The unfinished election of members of the standing committee was proceeded with. The third ballot resulted in the return of the Rev. R. L. Connolly and Messrs. J. G. Wynyard. H. M. Hammond and G. W. Seton. Archdeacon Bell. Revs. S. R. Warelng and E. H. Atkey and Messrs. D. Hay, F. Harris, A. N. Willis and E. A. Bruce were unsuccessful. At the fourth ballot Archdeacon Bell only was elected. Six additional nominations were received for the two remaining vacancies. Finally, after a long conference, Messrs. Hay, Willis. B. C. Lowry and F. M. Strange withdrew and Messrs. F. Harris and E. A. Bruce were declared elected.
