A. lorns was re-elected chairman of the Dairy Produce Hoard at the meeting of the board in Wellington yesterday. Mr. lorns is at present in England. Mr. A. Tyndall, engineer Mo the Main Highways Board, will leirve New Zealand in about two months’ timo to attend tho International Hoad Congress in the United States of America. Mr. J. H. Baxter, of the Customs Street branch of the Union Bank, has been appointed manager of the Nelson branch of the bank. Ho will be succeeded by Mr. It. A. Coyne, of Te .twamutu. Dr. J. M. Liston, Homan Catholic Bishop of Auckland, arrived by the Limited this morning after attending the Solemn Pontifical Requiem Mass held at the Basilica. Wellington, yesterday, for the late Sir Joseph Ward. Mr. J. W. M." Smith, of the Hailway Transportation Branch, Wellington, bas been transferred to Palmerston North, where he will act as stationmaster, succeeding Mr. J. J. O’Shea, who is retiring on superannuation. Mr. L. Phillips was admitted today as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Smith, on the motion of Mr. A. G. Quartley. Mr. E. G. Foster was admitted as a barrister, on tho motion of Mr. C. O. Mahoney. Mr. IV. L. Davidson, of Auckland, who was admitted today ns a solicitor of the Supreme Court, by Mr. Justice Smith, intends leaving shortly to set up practice in Fiji. His admission was sponsored by Mr. D. R.
