BOWLING CONFERENCE

VISIT TO AUSTRALIA ANNUAL MEETING ENDS The council of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association concluded its annual meeting at Auckland yesterday afternoon. The meeting decided to accept an invitation to send a New Zealand team to Brisbane to take part in a bowling carnival there next year. The number of rinks was left to the executive to decide. There are now 324 registered clubs throughout the Dominion. The total membership is 16.313, an increase of £27 during the year. The Auckland Centre’s suggestion that the rules of the association be altered so as to provide members attending the first meeting of each newly-elected council with £1 a day allowance was adopted. Previously members were entitled to the payment of travelling expenses only. It was also decided that Parliament bo approached with a request that the period of Summer Time be extended for one month each year.
