RECEIVED STOLEN GOODS

YOUTH'S NAME SUPPRESSED Pleading guilty to a charge of receiving goods to the value of 163, knowing them to have been stolen, a youth whose name was suppressed appeared at the Police Court today and was remanded until tomorrow for sentence, pending a report by the probation officer. The facts, as outlined by ChiefDetective Hammond, were that another young man, who was now serving a sentence for burglary, had shared a. room with accused at the latter’s home. This man, in company with a companion, had committed a series of burglaries, bringing the proceeds to accused’s room, where they had later been found by the police. Accused had been given a shirt and some cigarettes, knowing them to be stolen, though he took no part in the burg laries. “Accused is only 19 years of ago and I submit that this is a case for leniency,’’ said Mr. Terry for accused. “His statement to the police was quite frank, and his employers, who speak highly of his character, are prepared to take him back.’’ Mr. P. K. Hunt, S.M., agreed to suppress accused’s name in the meantime and stand the case over till tomorrow for sentence, pending a report from the probation officer.
