VARSITY RUGBY TEAM TO TRAVEL CURTAIN-RAISERS ANNOUNCED Oil the condition that no representative players were included in the party, tho University Club was given permission by the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union last evening to send a team to Fiji on August 9, returning on September 1. Tho Auckland Rugby League advised that no games would be played under its control on the date of the third test between Britain and New Zealand. It was decided to thank the League for its courtesy. It was reported that the following curtain-raisers would be played to the two matches the British team was playing in Auckland: Auckland, July 19. —Auckland Public School Representatives v. South Auckland Public Schools, 11 a.m.; Morrinsville District High School v. Sacred Heart College, noon; Auckland B Representatives v. King Country, 1 p.m. Test Match. July 20.—Primary Schools, 11 a.m.; Mount Albert Grammar v. Whangarei Boys’ High School, noon: Auckland Grammar v. Hamilton High School, 1 p.m. The New Zealand Union advised that the following reinstatements were sanctioned:—J. H. Fenton, G. Holt, B. (’lark, B. R. Clark, C. Tucker, A. Griffiths, P. J. Hintz, S. Loomb, O. P. Donaldson, F. M. Nasley. Tho following ground officials were appointed for Saturday:—Sturgess Park, Messrs. Arnold and Wilson; Grey Lynn. Messrs. Connyngham and Worsfold; Domain, Mr. S. Cleal; showgrounds, Messrs. Galbraith; Victoria Park, Mr. Hollier; Ellerslie, Mr. Laurie, Avondale, Messrs. Billingham and Bellini; North Shore, Messrs. Beeri and Ellworth: Point Chevalier, Mr. Warren; St. Hellers, Mr. Hunt,- Onehunga, Mr. C. Williams. The names of Messrs. M. Kronfeld, G. Peace, O. F. Pauli and A. E. Austin are to be submitted to the Thames team for the choice of a referee for the match on Saturday.
