SYDNEY BOUND

ELLERSLIE HORSES GO TOMORROW J. WILLIAMSON’S TRIO * The exodus of Dominion horses for Sydney will be advanced a*further step tomorrow when three inmates of the Ellerslie stable presided over by J. Williamson will be put aboard the Ulimaroa. It was the intention to include Corinax in the string, but owing to him going slightly amiss the representation will comprise only horses raced by the Sydney owner, Mr. E. P. Andrae. These will include the rising four-year-old Gemlight, and the coming three-year-olds, Rafflight and Tremetus. This trio has been associated with Williamson since the beginning of their racing careers, and Gemlight particularly has proved a profitable investment, for he has been a winner on five occasions; in fact he was one of the principals in the remarkable triple dead-heat which occurred in the seven furlongs race at Pukekohe early in March. Subsequently, Gemlight won the big mile on the second day of the Waikato Racing Club’s autumn meeting and it was this win which proved he was a really good horse up to a mile. Later he may be found racing over a middle distance .attractively. These wins were not Gemlight’s only good performances, for he filled minor placings several times, lie should be the sheet-anchor on the trip. Tremetus is the best of the three-year-olds, on actual performances, and in addition to being a winner he has raced honestly into minor placings. However, Rafflight has been allowed plenty of time and his most recent efforts were sufficient assurance that he is a galloper above the average. Altogether it is a decidedly useful team Mr. Andrae will have to represent him at Sydney suburban gatherings, and success should meet their efforts. Their trainer, J. Williamson . also goes across tomorrow and he will remain in charge during the campaign. There is a distinct possibility, too, of the horses remaining on the other side. Luring Williamson’s absence the paration of his big team at Ellerslie will again be under the supervision of H. Weston.
