HOSPITAL WEEK

MORE THAN £BOO RAISED As a result of ye&terda3’'s street appeal, conducted by the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary, more than £7OO was raised, while with the money obtained by activities during hospital week, and donations, the total is brought to more than £BOO. The funds are for the purpose of assisting the sick and needy and families which are in poor circumstances. In thanking the public for the generous response, the Mayoress, Mrs. A. 1). Campbell, said that it was unfortunate that the appeal and the drive organised by the Commercial Travellers should be held in the same week. Last year the auxiliary had a similar misfortune, as the collection coincided with the earthquake relief appeal, but yesterday’s collection showed a considerable advance over that for last year.
