WAIKATO HUNT
MEET AT MORRINSVILLE From, Our Oxen Correspondent MORRINSVILLE, Friday. The A\ aikato Hunt held its second meet of the season at Alorrinsville on Thursday. The weather was fine, and hares were very plentiful. Four or five good runs were enjoyed by u I good number of riders. The master, Mr. Wynn Brown, on i Tatler, and the whip, Air. Ned Brown, j on Berkford, were present. A large i number of people followed the hunt! 1 on foot and in cars. The best run of the afternoon lasted about 20 minutes. The hare started m Irvine’s, ran through Alanning’s, and across the Tahuna Road, over Lambie’s and into Bodman’s, where it was lost. There was one kill, but the other hares managed to elude the hounds. Among those present were the following: Mesdames D. Id. Darner (Circus), T. McMillan (Tangi), G. Bateman (Flying Jack), Miss I. Townsend (Cappy Kicks), Messrs. J. T. Robinson (Mick), J. McNaughton (Maungapiko), T. McMillan (Frontignac), W. Mellow (Daytona), J. Knox (Town Rambler), H. Clarkin (Rajah), E. Johns (Ranee)! S. Nixon (Tui Glen), H. Chapman (Quid). R. Townsend (The General), C. Hinton (Beauty Spot), M. Shaw (Uopaki), O. Glynn (Anything), -T. Aislabie (Everyday), W. Gaddes (Mill o’ Gowrie), J. Welch, V. R. Rowe (Bay Rum). There were two falls during the day. { r - G- Shaw, of Tauwhare, was | thrown when the young horse lie was i riding fell at a hurdle, while Mr. ,F. J. | Marshal!, the veteran hunting enthusi- ! ast, was thrown when having a run | !on another member’s horse. Both suf- , t fered only a slight shaking.
