A DANCING PARTY NEAR LIBERIA.—The Seabrook Expedition to the West Coast of Africa brought back some striking photographs of the native peoples in that part of the great continent. Near the Republic of Liberia the Yafouba tribe invests itself with the most bizarre of ritual costumes. Women of the tribe are not permitted to view these symbolic masks, nor are the children permitted to do so. They are herded in their huts while the men of the tribe “make whoopee.”
