Gary Cooper has the leading role in “Seven Days’ Leave,” which was adapted from Sir James Barrie’s “The Old Lady Shows Iler' Medals,” and ic at the De Luxe Theatre. It. is a sympathetic role, endowed with all the rich whimsy of Barrie* c literary original. Beryl Mercer, that delightfully quaini little British actress who made lie' screen debut in “Three Live Ghosts” as Mrs. Gubbins, portrays the leading supporting part, that of Mrs. Dowey. the charwoman, who adopts Cooper so that she can effect tlie bravado oi her neighbour’s charwoman, who have given sons to their country’s cause. Miss Mercer established the role in tho original stage production in London in 1920. *
