TALKIES WANTED
The present proprietor of pictures at the Avondale Town Hall asked the City Council last evening to relieve him of his obligations, as he could not carry on, and his repeated efforts to dispose of the contract had proved fruitless. An offer, however, came to the council from one willing to take an assignment of the contract and to agree to the rent being increased from £ 8 to £lO a week provided the council would make certain improvements and instal a talking-picture plant. The Parks Committee is to report.
