WORK-OUTS YESTERDAY GALLOPING AND SCHOOLING Special to 2'HE St A TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. Ideal weather prevailed for training operations at Te Awamutu this morning. The main work was done, on the outside of the course proper, the footing being holding. Sea Cob finished better than Marble King over five furlongs. Glenison got a break on Glenstar at the six furlongs barrier to finish well in front. White Ringlet ran a smart five furlongs and Day Lass pleased over a furlong farther. . Jumping away at the six. rrisnna and Thurnus soon opened a ?rap on Lovely Boy. The former pair finished on terms, the last five run in 1.5. Valstreet and Sir Kay galloped strongly over five furlongs, the former having a slight advantage at the post, in 1.7. _ Flying Prince, with Principal Boy as a companion, ran six finishing under a strong pull in 1.-o. Young Thurnham and Spalupin went once round over the country, the latter out-jumping liis associate to give a fine display. , ... Eager Rose went seven at a solid pace, finishing strongly. Several youngsters taking part in the parade on Saturday were spurted two furlongs. Juveniles in Action The dozen juveniles booked to appear in the parade at Te Awamutu tomorrow were on the country club's course yesterday. Several of them were sprinted over a quarter-mile on the course proper. Interviewed by a Sun representative, the owners and trainers at 1 0 Awamutu expressed appreciation oi the action of the Waipa Racing Club in giving the youngsters an opportunity of a run in public, and they hoped the innovation would be adopted by other clubs. . ... Frincess Bede, a nice looking fiii> by Catmint —Lady Bede, was paired with another from the Loomb establishment in lUuminelli, a daughter of Illumination and Finelli. The former showed to better advantage than Finelli’s youngster. who is a much later foal. , _ . . , Baroscope (AV eathervane F< I rtrl x) j and Kingsway (Little England Ruth), both well-grown yearlings, galloped with a nice display of dash and determination. The pair finished together. Messrs. Cueksey (owner of Baroscope) and Fisher (owner of Kingsway) were present to see their representatives work. Wanganui Owned TI. L. Russell produced his two “parade” candidates, Aspian (Thespian—Aspie) and Limeen (Limond Molleen Oge) and they were accompanied in the dash by A. Cooks charge. Golden Sceptre (Rosenor —Moiselle). The latter, owned by Mr. W. G. Whitmore, is a fine type of youngster and appears more fortvard than the majority of the others. Russell's duo are owned by Mrs. S. L. Parsons. ol Wanganui, who recently raced Catonia. W. Stone’s trio were exercised in the centre of the grounds. They were Soloist (Hunting Song—Lucella), a half-brother to Supremacy, and the unnamed fillies by Gainscourt —Holywell and Lord Quex —Lovematch. The lastnamed is the property of Mr 11. H Pharazyn. Gainscourt’s daughter will carry Mrs. M. H. Campbell’s colours, while Supremacy’s relative is owned bv Mr. A. J. McGovern. Mr. J. X. Heslop’s fine filly by Legionnaire from White Bird, an inmate of A. Cook’s stable, cantered on the same circuit. Geo. Paul's two-vear-old Kings Knave, who Is included in the parade field on Saturday, was galloped over three furlongs on the course proper with an older companion, a full-brother to Nukutere. The Comedy King youngster worked in attractive fashion.

SPRINT. AT ASHBURTON
FIRST APPEARANCE SINCE DEFEATED BY AUSSIE

Provided the weather is favourable, Mr. H. A. Knight has agreed to Limerick’s parading at Ashburton on Saturday, and giving an exhibition gallop in the interval between the third and fourth races. FLe will have as a companion Mr. E. B. Newton’s two-year-old colt, by Nightraid from Dutch Courage, which is being trained by the Ashburton mentor, J. J. Lewis.
Limerick has not appeared before the New Zealand public since defeated by Aussie in the Hazlett Gold Cup at Dunedin over 12 months ago. Trainer F. D. Jones believes he will stand up to another full preparation, as in the tests so far there has been no sign of the leg trouble recurring.
CHANGE OF QUARTERS
VALKYRIAN AT RICCARTON
The imported sire. Valkyrian, whose stock have done well during the past year, will be stationed at Upper Riccarton during the coming season. Last term he stood in the Waimate district, and his services were in keen demand, but his owner considers he will have better opportunities in a more central position.
