MUCH HELP GIVEN The holding of the collection, non recognised as the most intensively or- j ganised charitable effort in the c ity, is purely the idea of the association, but assistance is given by local bodies; all churches, the Auckland Education ; Board, and headmasters of schools, the Rotary Club, officials of IYA. schoolchildren, the Association of Boy Scouts and the Interhouse Girls' Sports Association. Already. 1,500 people have volunteered to assist in the campaign and. in accordance with the hope expressed by the organiser, Mr. R. Glover-Clark. it is probable that the number will approach 2,000. And all these workers will have their duties under the j “captains'* supervising the collections i in the many sections Greater Auckland has been divided into, carefully selected. The fleet of motor-cars to i sweep through Auckland will probablv | exceed 400. There will be 50 motori trucks. > Mr. W. H. Prentis is chairman of the organising committee, and two other members who have been busy instructing the corps of workers in the duties required of them are Mr. A. Thompson and Mr. W. M. Ingram. A similar campaign will be conducted in IV hangarei tomorrow by commercial travllers.
