In referring to the observance o Anzac Day. the report presented to th* Returned Soldiers’ Association Conference yesterday remarks, inter alia: *1: is true in New Zealand, as well as it other parts of the world, that those who made promises during- 1914-19 an now weary to the point of annoyance of being: shown that there are some things still to carry out. Anzac Day is one reminder that causes such folk i little discomfort. To them it curtails receipts, hinders commerce and banking. cuts out sport and entertainment The report asks if one can exper these people to reflect on the position of affairs had the sacrifices commemorated each Anzac Day ended with Britain and the Allies vanquished.
