DRIVERS’ AND TRAINERS’ SUPREMACY R. A. McMILLAN'S SUCCESS C. S. Donald, who has now won the premiership “double” for the 1929-30 season, did not produce a winner on either day of the Auckland fixture, his nearest effort to success being with Invader, which finished second in the Hobson Handicap on Saturday. In the drivers’ list Donald is first with 36 Avins, the nigliest recorded since the inception >f the competiLion. in the trainers’ section the Southerner has aimed out 44 winters, or just twice lie ■ number credted to the runnerjp. Tomkinson, who won the “double.” last season, registered 36 training successes and drove 33 winners. "Tomky” secured the trainers supremacy in 1927-2 S, which year T. G. Holmes was the leading remsman. T Brvce, in the latter contest, has been 'five times at the head of the list, while A. Pringle ‘‘took out” on three occasions, and “Drum itheis twice. JO. C. McDermott in 1919--0 put up the fine tally of 341 wins, which stood as the record till Donald eclipsed it this season. A dead-heat resulted, in 1920-21 between Ben Jarden and J. McLennan. _ „, J. Edwards have also held the honour for a season. Auckland Premiership I» (Allan) McMillan, the Tamah’ere trainer and reinsman, has done best in the Auckland Province this season. He trained 16 Avinners and also steered that number to victory. He had a “royal trot” Avith Machine Gun and Peter McKinney, both of Avhich AA'ere secured by him last season at most reasonable prices.
