Murdoch at a complimentary dinner at the Settlers’ Hotel on Thursday evening. Next year is the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Whangarei High School, and the board of governors has decided to celebrate the occasion by holding jubilee celebrations. The Jordan Valley Road was covered with four feet of water on Friday and all traffic was blocked as a result. Quite a number of cars which set out for Kawakawa on Saturday were compelled to turn back.
